Zwarte Poezie | Post Punk / Indie / Netherlands
Zwarte Poëzie is a wave band from The Netherlands blending sharp alternative rock inspired guitar sounds with drummachines, synths and Dutch vocals. In its initial band formation with drums and bass guitar the first album ‘Liefde’ was released. After this singer/guitarist Edwin van der Velde shifted the band towards the current more electronic sound. The first studio record after this switch was the NDW EP on which Zwarte Poëzie recorded some known and unknown Neue Deutsche Welle covers in Dutch. Of this record the song ‘De Laatste Dagen’ is frequently played at wave parties around the world. After this Zwarte Poëzie re-recorded the ‘Grijs Verleden EP’ with their classics ‘Zwarte Ramen’ and ‘Grijs Verleden’, but now fitting the new electronic Zwarte Poëzie sound.
In recent years Zwarte Poëzie has played at some great festivals like Gothic Pogo Festival, Young & Cold Festival and Waveteef, and performed at wave parties in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Poland. Currently Zwarte Poëzie is working on a new full album.
