Ursula | Minimal Wave / Germany

Ursula is a synthpop duo from East Germany. They combine sequencer basses live with drum synths and keys. The music is inspired by NDW, punk, coldwave and 80s synthpop. Driving bass and Drums underlay catchy melodies and spherical sound carpets. Ursulas Average speed is 180bpm. Texts presented in German are about Loneliness, staring at walls, being opposite.

Marcus and Joseph got to know each other as musicians of various punk bands in Halle (Saale) developed first song ideas on toy e-drums and a home organ. They quickly expanded her Repertoire and played local gigs. At the same time, they delved deeper into the Synthetic sound generation possibilities.

In 2019 her first album "Ursula" was initially released on tape. At the suggestion of the Damaged Goods DJ teams decided to make a split LP with material from Ursula and Young & Cold Records Frederik Schikowski to publish. This was published in spring 2021.
