
One of few European bands, independent and self-produced, that has toured the USA coast-to-coast several times. The last two tours expanded to Tijuana and Mexico City, and on the last tour they played their record of 11 shows in a row. These tours are now considered legendary, as they started with few shows on the first tour, and extended to last up to two months on the road, thanks to the support of Bat-Friends musicians and fans. Based in Italy, The Spiritual Bat has performed at several festivals and events in Europe, such as Wave Gothic Treffen, Whitby Goth Weekend, Return To The Batcave, Gotham Sounds, Castle Party, Carpe Noctum, as well as in the USA as The Red Party in New York, Release The Bats in Los Angeles, San La Muerte in San Antonio TX, Vendetta Festival Denver, Sogo Festival New Orleans, besides innumerable other shows, sharing the stage with the likes of Gene Loves Jezebel, Skeletal Family, Ego Likeness, 1919, Children On Stun, In The Nursery, Fields of The Nephilim, Garden Of Delight, Clan of Xymox, Frankenstein, and many others.
The Spiritual Bat is Dario Passamonti (Guitar, Music, Arrangements) and Rosetta Garrì (Lyrics, Vocals, Arrangements, Percussions), and currently bassist Emilio Torella from Frosinone, Italy, who has been a regular bat since 2015.
Recent collaborators have included Ashkelon Sain (of Trance To The Sun; from Portland, OR), Alessio Santoni (Volume-Ufp-Facus; from Rome), Greg Scott Cruz (Sullen Serenade, Soriah, Monica Richards; from San Antonio, Texas), Aaron Nicholes (of Legion Within; from Seattle, WA).
In 2021 “At The Edge of Life” EP is released through Swiss Dark Nights, the fruit of an international collaboration born during lockdown times, featuring Shir-Ran Yinon (Germany), Peter Bugg Rizzo (UK), Doc Hammer (USA), Greg Scott Cruz (USA), Claus Larsen (Denmark), mixed by Stephen Carey (The Eden House), with Mastering by Gordon Young (Children On Stun). The songs from the soon to be released full length album “Mission:Create” have been unveiled in the latest live stream show, and will soon be performed in person on selected stages.
The Spiritual Bat is an evolution of the "Spiritual BatS" project (plural), a previous incarnation of which Dario was co-founder with former singer Matteo Bracaglia in 1992.
