Social Station is Paul Todd and Jacob Sebastian, a father and son duo. With a passion for analog synths, hypnotic guitar, classic post-punk bass lines, and undeniable melancholic vocals, they have forged a dark yet catchy sound. The two of them have toured extensively, 40 shows in over 20 cities, including a performance at the Out From The Shadows (OFTS) V festival in Portland, Oregon. Additionally, Social Station has supported national touring acts, such as She Wants Revenge.
Building on the solo project of singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Paul Todd, the release of their self-titled album on Young and Cold Records crowned years of song writing and performance. ‘Ready to Rewind’ is the third track on the album transitioning from the atmospheric synths of ‘Echo Chamber’ and leading into the upbeat track ‘Hesitate’. Ready to Rewind’s opening lyric reflects on the destructive divisions in society, “When worlds collide the fire will keep us warm”, that is fueling a dysfunctional society. The storyline of the track continues with the familiar Social Station themes of introspection and struggle leading to a call for action with elements of hope, “Disconnect me, ready to rewind.”
Washington, DC-based post-punk darkwave outfit Social Station has announced their new maxi-single ‘Ready to Rewind Remixes’. The single release, 15 September, celebrates the one year anniversary of their self-titled album on Young and Cold Records, and features remixes by IAMTHESHADOW (Cold Transmission Records), L’Avenir (Cold Beats Records), and This Cold Night (Young & Cold Records).
