Plastique Noir / Post - Punk | Brazil
Plastique Noir was formed in 2005 in Fortaleza, Brazil, and its current lineup features Airton S (vocals and electronics), Danyel Fernandes (guitars and synths), and Deivyson Teixeira (bass). They quickly gained prominence within their city,
becoming a regular attraction in its main venues, as well as in other major Brazilian cities, having been invited in their first year to open for The Cruxshadows and also for touring around Brazil. Their first EPs “Offering” and “Urban Requiems” also received praise from prestigious European media.
In 2008, Plastique Noir released its first official album titled “Dead Pop”& (Pisces Records). During the recording, keyboardist Max Bernardo (deceased in 2010) left the band for personal reasons, but the band continued as a trio, embarking on an extensive tour across almost all of Brazil’s regions for nearly three years, performing at some of the biggest alternative festivals.
In 2010, the band opened for the only date of Frozen Autumn in Brazil, and by the
end of that year, they began the production of their second album titled “Affects” released in 2011 by Wave Records with international distribution. In July 2012, guitarist Márcio Mäzela left the band due to professional differences. In September of the same year, Deivyson Teixeira became the new bassist (making Danyel to take over guitars, his preferred instrument). In 2014, they began producing their third album, titled “24 Hours Awake” released in February 2015 during the Wave Summer Festival, the biggest gothic festival in South America, where they were one of the headliners alongside European acts like Das Ich and Ataraxia, again under Wave Records.
In 2018, the band embarked on their first successful Latin American tour, performing in four countries (Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico). After a hiatus during the pandemic, they returned live in 2022 with their fourth and also successful album release, "Iskuros"which includes hits like “Manifesto” , “Catedrais em Chamas”. and the viral “Kafé”. The album was premiered in São Paulo, at Madame Club, where they opened for Selofan.
Currently, Plastique Noir has over 40,000 listeners on Spotify and also has a wide
reach on other platforms. In 2024, they accomplished a new tour along Latin
America and are already preparing a new album, entirely in Portuguese, for 2025.
