Riot Wave duo formed in mid-2015, in Valparaíso, Chile, by Lau M (Bass, vocals, synth and digital drums) and Ignacia Strâin (Guitar, synth, digital drums and choirs). In their sound there is a mix between Classic Dark Wave of the 80's, Post Punk and Riot Grrrl.

During 9 years , the duo has proven to be one of the most important bands in the gothic culture of Chile and Latin America, with 2 studio albums and an EP: “Todo el Caos Habita Aqui” (2018, Young & Cold records) and “Elegía del Olvido/Elegía del Horror” (2021 Young & Cold records) and “Demonio” (2016, Batcave records). In February of this year they released the single “Traición” as a preview of their long-awaited EP “Vipera Mortis”

9 international tours and presence in underground festivals in America and Europe such as “Summer Gothic Wave" (2023 - Rome, It) "San la Muerte" (2019 - US), "Near Dark Fest" (2018 - US), "Return to the Batcave" (2016 - Poland), "Minicave" (2016 Germany), "The F Word" (Netherlands - 2016). In January 2022, they participated in the prestigious KEXP radio live sessions in Seattle, USA. In March 2024, they were the opening act for alternative rock legends, Placebo, as well as emblematic artists of gothic music such as Lebanon Hannover (2024), She Past Away (2016 and 2023),
Peter Murphy (2018) and Alice Glass (2023).
